On Dovetale, it's important to know the difference between "Verified Audience" analysis and "Estimated Engaged Audience" analysis. Below are a couple of definitions to help understand the difference:
- Estimated Engaged Audience - The audience data shown as "Estimated" on a Creator card is defined as the estimated audience data that is based on an approximation. This Estimated audience data is not calculated from an account’s followers and captured only from publicly available information such as likes and comments. This estimated engaged audience data should be used as an estimation only and we would recommend inviting creators as a Partner to verify social audience data.
- This data comes directly from the platforms and the creator MUST opt-in to share this data with you. You can request that a creator share this information, but you are unable to access a creator accounts Verified Audience data without their permission.
What's the difference?
The engaged Audience can be analyzed on Dovetale:
On Discover (inside the Dovetale platform), the "Estimated Engaged Audience" demographics can be found on the Creator Profile Window for any account with Instagram. Engaged audience data is defined by Dovetale as an estimation of the demographics data that is calculated using an approximation method for engaged users on Instagram content, as posted by a creator. Please see an example below:
Verified Insights analysis can be analyzed on Instagram:
Using the "Insights" tab on Instagram, Instagram users with a Creator OR Business Account can see analytics related to their profile and posts. Insights and metrics about your account include paid activity as well. Reach, accounts reached, impressions, and impressions by day reflect both paid and organic activity. This information is available on Dovetale only by inviting creators to become a Partner on Dovetale and can also be accessed via the Instagram app.
