I just paid my monthly bill for Community, will I be reimbursed now that it is free?
Because we are making Community free, your subscription will automatically be updated. How your billing will be affected, will look different depending on your payment method.
If you pay via Stripe, your Community subscription will be automatically canceled mid cycle and you will receive a prorated credit for any remaining days in your billing cycle. For example, if you paid $50 for Community on March 27, 2022 and got 15 days of usage, then you would receive a $25 credit for the remaining days in your original monthly subscription. Your credit will be applied to your original form of payment before the end of your original billing cycle. If you are also paying for additional Dovetale features, outside of the Community app, you will continue being billed for those features normally, and your credit from your Community subscription update will be used towards your next month’s payment.
If you pay for Community via Shopify, you will be charged for only the usage days in your current billing cycle prior to April 11, 2022. For example, if you were on a $50 plan, and your billing cycle began on March 27, 2022, you would have gotten 15 days of usage prior to April 11, 2022, so you would owe $25 on your next bill, and $0 thereafter for Dovetale Community.
Is there anything I need to do on my end to be credited what I am owed?
No, there is action you will need to take. Your subscription will be updated based on your method of payment as noted in the above question.
When will I see my subscription and billing information updated in my Dovetale account?
We will be releasing pricing updates on Dovetale for Community subscribers throughout the day on April 11, 2022.
Why are you making the Community app free?
We removed our pricing plans to make Community accessible to all Shopify merchants.
I was on the Community Lite plan ($0/month), when will I get access to all Community features for free?
You will gain access to all Community features on Monday, April 11th, 2022.
What does the new free version of Discover include and how is it different from what I’m paying for now?
If you’re currently on an Enterprise subscription of Discover, and have questions about how our Enterprise subscriptions differ from the new, free Discover feature please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Why did you make a new version of Discover?
We created a new simple search tool for merchants to discover potential community members. All merchants with Community installed can now search for creators on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, etc. and see their follower count and engagement. Merchants can also search for creators that align with their brand values using keywords and hashtags.
How can I switch to the free version of Discover?
Our new version of Discover is available to all Shopify merchants who install our Community app. If you are a Shopify merchant with Community and are currently paying for our legacy Enterprise Discover feature and would like to switch to the free version, you can do the following:
Go to your Subscription and billing settings
For the ‘Prospecting’ subscription, please click on ‘Remove Product’
At the end of your billing cycle, you will be changed over to the Free Discover feature!
Please note, we will not be able to revert you back to your paid Discover plan if you remove this Enterprise subscription.
I’m not a Shopify Merchant, what does this mean for my account?
Existing Dovetale customers will experience no immediate change to their experience of the Dovetale platform.
I’m not a Shopify merchant, can I get Discover for free?
Our new version of Discover is only available to Shopify merchants who install our Community app.
Is Dovetale only for Shopify Merchants now?
No, Dovetale will continue to support existing enterprise customers. Existing Dovetale customers will experience no immediate change to their experience of the Dovetale platform. However, if you have not previously signed up to Dovetale, all new sign ups to Dovetale will require an active Shopify subscription.
Have you gotten rid of the enterprise plan I was on?
Dovetale will continue to support existing enterprise customers.
